William Austin Oke (December 14, 1857〔 – February 24,1923) was a printer and politician in Newfoundland. He represented Harbour Grace in the Newfoundland House of Assembly from 1897 to 1908 as a Liberal.〔
The grandson of Robert Oke, the first Chief Inspector, Newfoundland Lighthouse Service, and the son of Edward Langdon Oke, a lighthouse keeper, he was born in Harbour Grace and was educated there. His father drowned when Oke was just three. He apprenticed as a printer with the ''Harbour Grace Standard''. Around 1900, he became editor and co-owner with John Munn of the ''Standard''.〔 On July 31, 1890, Oke married Sophia Lilla Snow (b. December 1862, d. June 11, 1938), who was the first principal of the Anglican High School in Harbour Grace, and later awarded O.B.E. Officer, Civil Division, the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
From 1909 until his death in 1923, Oke served as district court judge at Harbour Grace. Oke was also president of the Sons of England society at Harbour Grace, a member of the local Masons, and a Trustee of Shannon Park in Harbour Grace. At the time of his death, Oke's son, Edward, was the editor and proprietor of the ''Standard''.
